Říčky in Orlicke mountains
22.10.2007 | Category: Tips for tripsMountain village and well known recreational centre (635 m) in valley Říčky (once called Klausa) and on surrounding downhills below Anensky hill and below Zaklety hill. Říčky used to be most of all a lumber’s settlement in 1654. However, it’s possible to move the beginning of Říčky village even more deep backward in history, on the beginning of the 16th century.
Glass factories have been changing their positions due to timber harvesting and lack of wood.
And just one from posts of Rokytnice´s glass works could be (according to historians) the locality Bockwinkel (Kouty) between Rokytnice and Říčky, namely since year 1515.
It was proofed that there was a glass works in Kouty in year 1872, which was built by Mr. Jan Stöhrem von Vamberk. Probably on the ruins of the ancient glass works from 16th century.
They was suffering from distribution, supply and materials difficulties. Due to this issues cause bankruptcy of facility. Factory building was destroyed and in place of factory on glass here was saw-mill. Glass works produced glass sheets, later round crystal glass, alabaster glass, ruby and pretty coloured glass, that was exported to the England.
